Calgary Militaria Show’s is attempting to fill a void in the militaria collectors’ community, by conducting the only stand-alone militaria show in Western Canada.
The Show is an event dedicated to the education, promotion, appreciation and preservation of military history through the display, exhibition, and collecting of military artifacts.

The Show’s purpose is to support the hobby of Militaria, its collectors, dealers, modelers, reenactors, researchers, restorers, professors, teachers, students and the interested public, by conducting regularly scheduled shows providing a venue where military artifacts and regalia can be educationally displayed, bought, sold or traded.

Calgary Militaria Shows is hoping, with the help of show participants and the public, to grow this annual event into the largest Militaria Show in Canada and to build a reputation as a high-quality event, striving to maintaining tasteful, high quality vendors tables and educational display presentations that present a responsible image to the public.

Calgary Militaria Shows 2024 8th Annual Show Is Sold Out
Why Move
Calgary Militaria Shows has moved. The Annual Show has been conducted at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Center since the first annual show in 2017. However, increasing the number of tables or extending the show to host a two day event is not possible. Regardless of the dates, the Show, currently one day on a Saturday, can not book a Friday and or a Sunday year round due to weekday public events and Sunday Flea Markets.
What prompted the move?
The Military Collectors' Club of Canada (MCC of C) 2024 Convention was scheduled for Calgary but rental space requirements to accommodate the Convention's schedule and their overall costs were prohibitive.
So in support of the MCC of C, I made a decision to seek out a venue that would accommodate the MCC o f C's convention schedule and allow the MCC of C to exhibit during the 2024 Calgary Militaria Show.
The New Location and Timing
CMS would like to conduct it's annual event with an eye on the future including both a venue with the flexibility required to accommodate increasing table numbers and the capability of hosting a two day event.
For our 2024 Event, Calgary Militaria Shows has selected the Deerfoot Inn & Casino - Conference Centre.
For future events, Calgary Militaria Shows will continue to evaluating currently available event space within Calgary. The goal, to find a more permanent location. Main considerations include venue availabilitay, event space size and rental price.
Military Collectors' Club of Canada - Annual Convention
Since 2015, The Military Collectors Club of Canada (MCC of C) ponied conventions held in Calgary on the Alberta Arms & Cartidge Collectors Association's Annual Easter Arms Show held at the Calgary Stampede's BMO Center.. The show with up to 1,000 tables, is Canada's largest.
For 2022, the AACCA changed venues moving their Easter Arms Show to the Chief Jim Starlight Centre. A beautiful but smaller venue with a reduction of 400 + tables.
Even with the reduction in table numbers, the AACCA Easter Arms Show is still the largest arms show in Canada. However, adjustments were required to accommodate their members and long time show participants which included replacing MCC of C exhibition displays with arms vendors.
Although long time militaria vendors will continue to be invited to the Annual Easter Arms Show, the MCC of C will not be hosting future Conventions in Calgary in conjunction with the AACCA Annual Easter Arms Show.
For the 2024 Convention and future Conventions held in Calgary, the MCC of C will have to book its own event space. Today, booking event space to meet a convention's event schedule and overall costs are at issue.
